ADULT EDUCATION

A continuing education program in Jewish studies offers adults multiple opportunities for investigating both traditional and contemporary areas of interest. Those who wish, will find available courses ranging from Hebrew and Bible study to literature and social issues.

Talmud Study With the Rabbis

Tuesdays, January 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31

Noon –1 PM

Bring your lunch and study the Talmud in English with Rabbi Pokras and Rabbi Green. Open to the entire community – join us!

New Women's Study Time

January 24    3 PM    Broder Center

As many of our members can't drive at night, especially in the winter time, our regular Womens' Study will be moving to 3 p.m. at the Broder Center.

This year's study topic is "Lesser Known Women of the Bible." Using Bible, midrash, poetry, mysticism and other texts, we will study the Bible like you've never studied it before. We may even read a biblically based novel.

January 24: "The Sexual Shenanigans of King Davids's Court: Rape, Adultery, and Murder, Oh My".

Upcoming dates: March 27, April 24, and May 22.

Lunch & Learn:Pop Culture and Jews

Wednesdays, January 18, 25 and February 1 at noon

Bring your lunch to the Broder Center and let Cantorial Intern Penny S. Myers help you break out of your mid-winter Blues with 3 fabulous sessions on pop culture and Jews! Come nosh with your friends at TBZ as you learn some of the amazing connections and history between Judaism and pop culture.

Session topics include: Jews and Shoes (even back in Biblical times-just ask Moses!), "Jew"elry (come with your bling, bling) , The Jewish Runway (no, we're not talking El Al).

Weekly Torah Study - every Shabbat morning 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. 805 Delaware Avenue

Study the Torah or Haftarah portion of the week with a member of the clergy.  Learn, schmooze, have some coffee and enjoy the company of other learners.
