TBaZY (Temple Beth Zion Youth)

BROTHERHOOD

SENIOR YOUTH GROUP for students in grades 8 through 12, has as its purpose preserving Jewish identity by providing a variety of programs, including social action, study, worship, service to Temple Beth Zion and leadership training. Our vibrant and energetic teens organize and participate in many activities, including annual events, such as a Candlelight Service for Chanukah, a Purim Carnival, a creative congregational service and regional conferences. This Temple youth group is a member of North East Lakes Region of NFTY and participates in activities both in Canada and in the United States.

JUNIOR YOUTH GROUPS are offered for students in grades 5 through 7. Social, educational, community service, team building and religious activities are planned throughout the year. Members participate in a Shabbat week- end exchange program with other junior youth groups in the region.

For more information on our Youth Groups, call Hannah Donner at 836-6565 ext.139.

The purpose of Temple's Brotherhood is to cooperate with and support the Temple by stimulating and promoting Jewish religious, cultural and    educational activities; and through the vehicles of programming and social events, to foster and enhance the advancement of the Jewish family and traditions among our membership and the Congregation.

Do you have a special interest or affinity? Then join one of our affinity groups or create your own! KESHER is a group of people in their late 20's-40's.  It is a social group that gets together for different outings.  Past events include dinners out, apple picking, Shabbat potluck suppers, picnics and wine tasting.  We always welcome new people and new ideas for events.  We alternate between adult only activities and family-friendly gatherings.  If you would like more information and would like to be added to the Kesher mailing list, please email group coordinator Jessica Meyers Altman.

JUNIOR CHOIR (SHIR RUACH!)

Shir Ruach (open to children grade 3 – 6) meets from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM following Religious School each Sunday.  Directed by Cantorial Intern Penny Myers, this group performs regularly at Shabbat Evening Family Services. Shir Ruach also performs at other  congregational  and  community  events  including  Mitzvah  Day, Weinberg Campus in parternership with Brotherhood's Achim Program, Yom Haatzm'ut and Yom Hashoah.

For students who are post B'nei Mitzvah, Temple Beth Zion's Shir Gila is a wonderful outlet for our young adults to learn the basics of leading an ensemble and preparing for solos within our worship experience.

For information and a schedule of events for the Junior Choir please contact Cantorial Soloist Penny Myers at 836-6565.
