Rabbi Laurie Green joined our clergy team on July 1, 2010. She is passionate about teaching Torah and building sacred community, and pleased to have the opportunity to do them both at Temple Beth Zion.
Rabbi Green received her B.A. in Religious Studies from University of Pennsylvania in 2000, and her M.A. in Hebrew Literature and Rabbinic Ordination from Hebrew Union College in 2007. As a rabbi and a rabbinic intern, she served pulpits in CO, NJ, CT, and CA. Rabbi Green brings over a decade of experience in Jewish education, having most recently served as Assistant Educator at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue and Director of Education at Aspen Jewish Congregation. She also has extensive experience in community organizing, interfaith relations, and social justice work, having worked and trained with Jewish Funds for Justice, the Religious Action Center, and Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE). Rabbi Green received her pastoral care training while working in hospital chaplaincy at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Rabbi Green lives with her wife, Mira, and their son, Gus, in North Buffalo.
