Service Descriptions

Kabbalat Shabbat (6:00 PM)  is an intimate, song filled service to welcome Shabbat. Families, singles, young and young at heart are all invited to joyously welcome Shabbat together.  The service concludes no later than 7:00 PM.

Erev Shabbat Service (7:30 PM) features a complete worship service with our new prayerbook, Mishkan T'Filah.  The evening sets a peaceful mood for Shabbat and the worship experience is enhanced with organ accompamniment.

At Family Services, all generations come together in worship on the first weekend of every month.  Religious School classes often lead some of the service, sharing their own thoughts along with our traditional liturgy.  When held at the Broder Center, we pray with our hands free and our hearts full as use the Mishkan T'Filah prayerbook through an innovative Power Point presentation.  Whether at the Broder Center or the Delaware Building, families and individuals from every generation are invited to participate and pray together as a community.

Classical Service is a Shabbat Service in which we use the 1942 edition of the Union Prayer Book.  We read most of the service in English and sing melodies historically used at Temple Beth Zion.

Canterbury Woods service is a Shabbat Morning Service held at Canterbury Woods, 705 Renaissance Drive in Williamsville.  All are welcome to attend.

Thursday Afternoon Service at Broder (5:30 PM) is an informal worship experience led by our own congregants.  The Broder Center Auditorium is the location for this wonderful opportunity to worship, meet new people and reconnect with your TBZ friends.

TOT Shabbat! services at Temple Beth Zion are designed for children ages 2 - 8 and their families.  We celebrate Shabbat through song, prayer, stories and craft activities.

Shabbat Services at Temple Beth Zion are open to the entire community.
